Renewed joy. Reflection for marriages. Matthew 9:14-17

Gospel
How can the guests of the bridegroom mourn while he is with them?
From the Gospel according to Matthew. Mt. 9, 14-17.
Then, John’s disciples came and asked him, “How is it that we and the Pharisees fast often, but your disciples do not fast?”
Jesus answered, “How can the guests of the bridegroom mourn while he is with them? The time will come when the bridegroom will be taken from them; then they will fast. No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment, for the patch will pull away from the garment, making the tear worse. Neither do people pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst; the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.”
The Gospel of the Lord.

Renewed joy
The Lord really comes to bring us something new. We can no longer stay in the Old Testament approaches based on the law. It is time to be joyful in faith, even in the midst of difficulties, because the Lord is with us. And in those occasions when The Husband is not with me because I have separated him from me, I will have to make sacrifices to subdue my self-pride so that I can be in Him even in those situations.
Applied to Married life
Anna: How much I have suffered because I saw that, because of our sin, the communion between us is not as God had intended it to be.
James: I do understand. You have a very strong call from the Lord to live that communion with me. The idea of not being able to live this communion tortures you. If it is also because of my sin, I immediately become the source of your suffering, which does not help to continue building a communion.
Anna: But Christ came to earth, he has given himself to make it possible, and that should keep me happy despite the circumstances. So, I must take advantage of that suffering as a way to make my heart more docile to the love of God.
James: Thank you, my wife. The lights that the Lord gives you in prayer help me a lot. Thanks for sharing them with me.
Mother

We do not want to separate the Bridegroom from our hearts. Help us, Mother. Praise the Lord who brings us the glory of God.
