Married couples have a sacrament, which we must understand in depth.

The Marital Love Project is based on Saint John Paul II’s catechesis on human love and consists primarily of working on three pillars (faith, formation, and life) to recover God’s plan for marriage and family. Returning to the beginning, as Jesus indicates in the Gospel, from the creation of man and woman, and which has holiness as its goal. This recovery must be made from the inside out, that is, first collaborating with the Holy Spirit to shape our marital relationship, and then sharing it and helping other marriages and families. That is why this project has a missionary spirit.

Why Saint John Paul? Because he spent almost five years in audiences almost every Wednesday, speaking about marriage and family. It’s the longest catechesis a Pope has ever given, and it’s about marriage and family! It unravels our truth and the truth of marriage. We return to the beginning; Jesus returns to the beginning!

Saint John Paul observes when Jesus is asked about a topic related to marriage, in Matthew 19 or Mark 10. Do you remember that dialogue with the Pharisees: “Have you not read that from the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female’ and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, no human being must separate.” They said to him, “Then why did Moses command that the man give the woman a bill of divorce and dismiss [her]?” He said to them, “Because of the hardness of your hearts Moses allowed you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so”.

Well, in that dialogue, Saint John Paul observes how Christ referenced the beginning, the Genesis.

In Genesis there are truths. It is not an allegorical tale. Let us follow Jesus’ instructions: Let us go back to the beginning…

WHY WORK ON THE CATECHESIS OF SAINT JOHN PAUL II?

We have tried different topics and methods that address and work with consequences, while Saint John Paul II addresses the root. He delves into the reason for our existence, anthropology (the study of humanity), the meaning of marriage, and God’s plan.

Philosophical approach: It’s very typical to go over the same things repeatedly, and with each turn, we discover nuances that complement the previous approach. Sometimes it may always seem like the same thing, but it’s important to repeatedly emphasize certain concepts to consolidate them little by little (this is like advertising), so that our beliefs and attitudes gradually change and become more like the truth. Changing the logic of the world to the logic of God, little by little.

• Sharing experiences and visions.
