About Marital Love Project

The Marital Love Project began in 2002 when, in a prayer in Fatima, the Virgin entrusted it to a couple from Malaga: José Luis and Maui. After starting a few small catechism groups, these retreats began in 2016 and since then it has been spreading rapidly throughout Spain and part of the world. It is a diocesan method for marriage and family whose main foundation is to know in depth and the greatness of our sacrament, through the catechism of Saint John Paul II, bringing them to the experience of life.

Knowing the mission, the vocation to which we have been called.
The Marital Love Project is a method for marriages that has become diocesan in Malaga and is spreading to many dioceses throughout Spain, part of Europe and South America, with the supervision of the respective parish priests and the delegates of family pastoral care and the bishops of each diocese.

To strengthen our training, some of us have completed the Master’s in Family Pastoral Care from the John Paul II Institute. Some of us also work in the Family Pastoral Care of our diocese.

“THE THREE PILLARS” OF PROYECTO AMOR CONYUGAL

     1. Training
     2. Prayer
     3. Love (Life)

  • Training “understanding” marriage: Learning from revelation. More than 2000 years of revelation on marriage, from God through his Spirit, collected in the Magisterium of the Church. It is not an ideology, it is a compendium of Truth.
  • Common prayer and Sacraments (“with the help of Christ”): Loving each other with the Love of Christ. The more He enters into us, the more His love will act and not mine.
  • And loving (“living” the sacrament): Daily practices of surrender to nourish our Matrimonial Sacrament. You cannot love if there is no commitment, if there is no effort and if there is no suffering.

FRUITS THAT WE ASK OF GODDrawing closer to God by doing his will with Christ and in imitation of Christ, which brings about spiritual growth and perfects our communion. (CIC 1661 “The sacrament of Matrimony signifies the union of Christ with the Church. It gives spouses the grace to love each other with the love with which Christ loved his Church; the grace of the sacrament thus perfects the human love of the spouses, reaffirms their indissoluble unity and sanctifies them on the path of eternal life.”)

  • Living a foretaste of the Kingdom of God in this world: Communion, joy, peace, fullness… (CCC 1642 “…In the joys of their love and of their family life, he gives them, already here, a foretaste of the marriage supper of the Lamb…”)
  • Being a light for our children (“See how they love one another”) Family as a school of love. (“You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hidden.” Mt 5:14) (“The family is the first and fundamental school of sociality; as a community of love, it finds in the gift of self the law that governs it and makes it grow. The gift of self, which inspires the mutual love of spouses, is set as a model and standard for the gift of self that must exist in relationships…” F.C. 37 JPII)
  • Being salt of the earth for other marriages and families (“You are the salt of the earth. If salt loses its taste, how can it be made salty again? It is good only to be thrown away and trampled underfoot.” Mt 5:13)
  • Being present to one another’s needs (Especially among the members of the group (“For this Man did not come to be served, but to serve” Mk 10:45)
