Needy above all. Reflection for marriages Saint Matthew 11, 25-27

GOSPEL
You have hidden these things from the wise and revealed them to the little ones.
Reading from the holy Gospel according to Saint Matthew 11, 25-27
At that time Jesus exclaimed:
“I give praise to you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth,
for although you have hidden these things
from the wise and the learned
you have revealed them to the childlike.
Yes, Father, such has been your gracious will.
All things have been handed over to me by my Father.
No one knows the Son except the Father,
and no one knows the Father except the Son
and anyone to whom the Son wishes to reveal him.”
The Word of the Lord.
Needy above all.
Only by having a humble and simple heart can I receive and welcome God’s wisdom. There comes a time when knowledge can be harmful, as it can make us proud.
To live a marriage as God intended, the secret is to cultivate a receptive heart, open to God’s grace.
Applied to Married Life:
Ana: Lately we’ve been on a bad streak… Constantly correcting each other with an attitude as if we know it all… And that’s pushing us away from love.
Juan: You’re right. It’s easy to fall into arrogance and mutual contempt. What do you think if we go together to confess and spend a good while prostrated before the Lord?
Ana: I think it’s wonderful. Knowing we need God and each other. That’s the real path. I’m ashamed of my attitude. Will you forgive me?
Juan: Of course. Will you forgive me?
Ana: Yes, I forgive you. And I love you, and I need you so much.
Juan: I love you.
Mother,
Needy, very needy. That’s what we are above all. Praise be to God who shares His wisdom with the little ones.
