GOSPEL
Master, I want to see.
Reading from the holy Gospel according to Mark 10:46-52
As Jesus was leaving Jericho with his disciples and a sizable crowd,
Bartimaeus, a blind man, the son of Timaeus,
sat by the roadside begging.
On hearing that it was Jesus of Nazareth,
he began to cry out and say,
“Jesus, son of David, have pity on me.”
And many rebuked him, telling him to be silent.
But he kept calling out all the more,
“Son of David, have pity on me.”
Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.”
So they called the blind man, saying to him,
“Take courage; get up, Jesus is calling you.”
He threw aside his cloak, sprang up, and came to Jesus.
Jesus said to him in reply, “What do you want me to do for you?”
The blind man replied to him, “Master, I want to see.”
Jesus told him, “Go your way; your faith has saved you.”
Immediately he received his sight
and followed him on the way.
Word of the Lord.
I like it more and more.
Apparently, Bartimaeus was not blind from birth, but rather an illness affected his vision.
The same happens with sins, which tremendously affect the vision of the soul.
That is why today I make this prayer my own: My Lord, my Master, Merciful Father, have compassion on me, for I know that I have no merits to come to You through the union with my husband, and I know I do not have the ability to earn them. I completely depend on You and Your mercy. I know that You love me and cannot resist my call if it is sincere. I have full faith that You can purify me and transform my heart of stone into a heart of flesh. Call me, Lord, call me to You, to Your feet.
Grounded in Married Life:
Marisa: The more I know the Lord, the more I fall in love with Him.
Luis: The more I know the Lord, the more I fall in love with you, the more I strongly feel the call to become one with you, and the more He empowers me. I experience a supernatural love that unites me to you and is stronger than I am and than my sins.
Marisa: Blessed are the two calls from God, to be Christians and to be Spouses. What a precious plan for us.
Luis: I love them, and I like them more and more. I like the Lord more and more, and I like you more and more. Now I understand what the Lord meant when He said, “My yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Mother,
We have all our faith placed in the Lord, and He who called us through you will complete His work in us. Blessed be the Lord who called us by our name.
